Different weekend for us - Hastings Bonfire on Saturday evening and Halnaker Tunnel on Sunday afternoon.
Hastings Bonfire and Fireworks is early compared to most events, as theirs celebrates Guy Fawkes in addition to the Battle of Hastings and this is held at end of Hastings week in mid October.
It starts with a torch lit procession as darkness falls - setting off from the newly refurbished pier and going along the seafront to the old town and then looping back to the beach.
After t he whole procession has finished, the bonfire is lit and then the fireworks start - all this taking place on the beach.
It was a great evening out and one we will repeat for sure - an obviously popular event, as there were thousands of people out for it on a lovely Autumn evening.
After a late night, we awoke a bit later than originally planned and set off for Halnaker in West Sussex. I had seen a photo of a tunnel of trees in that area and it looked very appealing.
After a bit of a wrong steer following some vague directions, we finally found the right place to park and only had a short walk to this tunnel.
This is a beautiful place for photos, though I am sure it will look even better when the leaves on the trees change to their autumnal colours as there was still plenty of green on view.
We will return for another go in a few weeks, hopefully before all the leaves fall.
