Following several weekends that were not particularly suitable for walking in the countryside, today I went to Arundel for a riverside walk.
It was breezy and cold, but also mainly sunny, as I set off from the car park to walk along the riverside footpath that follows the course of the River Arun. This proved to be very muddy due to yesterday rainfall, but the views are reward for keeping going.
I walked about half a mile in one direction, before retracing my footsteps and heading towards the town. There I was able to cross the river and walk along the footpath on the other side.
From both sides it was possible to take photos that included the Castle, Cathedral and Church all in the frame, plus the river and the grasses that were being blown around by the wind.
A pleasant trip, with plenty of fresh air and some exercise - a combination very important to my health.
