Masters Historic magic @ Brands Hatch

The Masters Historic Festival at Brands Hatch is one of the race meetings I particularly look forward to each season, as the sights and sounds bring back the magic of times gone by.

This season I was fortunate enough to obtain a ticket that allowed me entry for the Saturday, which was very welcome.

Arriving at the Circuit, I paid for entry for my car so that I could park on the infield and reduce the amount of walking and the amount of gear I needed to carry with me.

Brands Hatch on a warm and sunny day is one of my favourite places, so I was really hoping for a great day.

The Historic F1 cars have long been part of this meeting along with the Masters Historic Sports Cars, while this season there is an added series - Masters Endurance Legends. This brings cars that didn't actually get to race at Brands originally and these were certainly spectacular to watch and hear.

Following the Legends out for qualifying were the F1 cars, with the glorious sound of 17 Cosworth DFV F1 engines really awakening my senses and memories.

The photo below was taken at Hawthorns Bend, which is one the quickest parts of the circuit and a point I have been going to for photos since 1983.
