Sun was forecast for most of this week, with daytime temperatures climbing to a very acceptable seasonal high of around 12c. So we opted for a day out, with Newhaven our first port of call. We haven't explored the west side of this town and harbour yet, so today was a start.
We parked at Newhaven Fort, which gave an elevated view over the town and the Marina and the River Ouse.
A little further up Castle Hill, we followed a footpath that took us out onto the cliff top overlooking West Beach and the Harbour Entrance. There is plenty more around West Quay and the beach level for me to explore, but that waits for a different time when i am out on my own.
A short walk back to the car and then we drove to Seaford, parking near Tide Mills - an historic site where an old mill once stood, together with houses for workers etc, though now just derelict old ruins.
Making our way out to the beach, I opted to take a photo of small waves washing onto the shore. The bay goes in a bit of a curve from Newhaven end, with Seaford Head visible in the background.
At this point my wife decided it would be nice to drive to Climping Beach, which is in West Sussex- so off we set.
Climping is another pebble beach, with not much else there - great for coastal walks but nothing exciting to aim a camera at.
I set about taking more wave pics, some being quite pleasing. Today was more about seeing what I could achieve from whatever was in front of me.
