Another nice sunny day saw us planning another trip out. I had plans for various photos, based on wandering around West Quay at Newhaven, then Seaford Head and maybe waiting around for some night sky pics which I have never tried so far.
My plans soon changed when we wandered around West Quay and were unable to get anything I had in my mind - I originally thought Fishing Boats, Nets, maybe fresh fish stalls etc but nothing on view like that.
We chose to continue by driving to Seaford Head, but now we were much earlier than originally planned. I had thought of sunset from the top of the cliffs, looking out to a wide enough view to include the sea, some cliff edges and a small part of town as we looked towards Newhaven. However, being that much earlier meant a three hour wait for sunset.
My Wife suggested we head for Eastbourne and try pics of the Pier, especially lit up at night. Off we went and I got a few pics of part of the Pier with reflections of the sunlit parts showing in the sea. However, with the amusement arcade section no longer there, most of the lit up at night bits were not there and the whole scene didn't look very promising for after sunset.
Capturing the sunset at Eastbourne was going to be almost impossible, as the sun was inland. So we headed to Birling Gap as it's nearby and opted for sunset pics looking out from the cliff top at high tide. I got a few reasonable pics, though the very clear skies meant no little wisps of cloud to capture the colours of a setting sun.
