Bluebells at Hatchlands Park

We had never been to the National Trust property at Hatchlands Park, even though it is not too far from home. The recent bluebell display prompted us to make a visit.

The very helpful staff at the ticket office soon had us aware of where to head for to see them, with a walk through other parts of the estate required to reach Wix Wood - the scene of the bluebell display.

There were loads of bluebells, creating a blue carpet across the floor of the woodland with several fallen trunks and branches adding to the interest in the shots.

We did n't have the sunniest conditions, as it had clouded over quite a bit since early morning.

The actual gardens at Hatchlands really didn't get me feeling creative at all, while the rest of the estate is dominated by trees and open grassland - a lovely place for a stroll.
