Since moving to Littlehampton early this month, I have wanted to see what it's like at West Beach - an area we haven't previously explored, that is situated on the other side of the River Arun from the main part of the town.
A short drive from home got me there and the pay and display car park at the end of the lane is handily placed.
A short walk via a well maintained boardwalk saw me arrive on the beach. Either side of the boardwalk are fenced off areas to protect ground-nesting birds.
West Beach turned out to be a lengthy stretch of shingle beach that would allow views down to and past Bognor on a clear day.
My main objective today was just to know what it's like over there, but back near the car park on this lovely sunny afternoon I noticed the opportunity to take photos looking up the river with the town in the background.
