GT Cup exciting racing, Brands Hatch GP Circuit

Updated: Aug 5, 2023

A couple of weeks ago, my trusty old Canon EOS 7d mkii started 'playing up' and showing signs of having been a well used camera just a little too long.

My wonderful Mum (God bless her soul, as she has since passed away) was quick to treat me to a brand new Canon EOS 5d mkiv which I have been coveting from afar for several years.

This GT Cup meeting was my first opportunity to try out the new camera (collected on the Friday, racing on the Sunday) and it would be fair to say I am absolutely thrilled with it. Thankfully, many of the controls for it are very familiar to me as they remain the same as for the old camera. The clarity and image quality is outstanding and I am excited for my future photography outings to the landscape and coastal locations that I particularly enjoy.

The strong and varied entry list for the GT Cup was one attraction behind me attending this meeting, with the major bonus attraction of the racing being on the marvellous Brands Hatch GP Circuit. I love going to Brands and have been attending racing there every year of the 64 I have been alive, seeing many changes along the way but always relishing the meetings that take place on the 'long circuit'.

The support programme included the massed ranks of the Radical UK Cup and the Modified Fords, so there was plenty going on for me to point the camera at.

Full write up to follow shortly, plus other pics
