My first Littlehampton Sunrise

Two weeks after moving into a seafront flat in Littlehampton, I finally caught the opportunity to photograph the sunrise. A hurried get-up and rush across to the beach was followed by rapidly working out where to start to take the photos. The pre sunrise colours had already started and the potential was obvious and exciting.

The tide was out and that had left patterns in the wet sand, while the colours were reflecting in that wet sand and starting to light up the cloudless horizon.

For the above photo, I had moved further out to sea as the tide had continued to recede and I found this shallow water where the breeze was creating ripples down the water and the water gave a reflection of the rising sun.

Looking the opposite way, the moon was still visible and the colours from sunrise were reflected as pastel colours in this calming scene.
