It has been a while since we visited Scotney Castle, a National Trust property just south of Lamberhurst in Kent. It had also been one month since I last got out and about with the camera - having started a new job and not getting much spare time.
It's a lovely place to go, with plenty of walking space available and some pretty spots in the garden. Mostly, it is known for the Castle and ruins and the moat - therefore the reflections of building in moat on nice sunny days.
Though this day was supposed to have quite a lot of sun, it spent much of the day hidden behind a blanket of cloud.
The sun did eventually peep through to add glow and colour to some shots mid afternoon and the pics were much the better for that. There are several different views available of the Castle, with many chances to 'naturally frame ' it with trees etc to add interest in the photo.
The site was very busy and I always try to avoid getting too many people in the backgrounds of my photos, particularly if they are wearing bright colours or white as they stand out too much. I often think I need to visit these places when they are otherwise empty, but that is not possible really.
