Selsey - a Coastal Walk

Updated: Jun 8, 2021

With a decent forecast and a weekend off, we headed for Selsey for a coastal walk - a good chance for sea air and some walking exercise. We parked easily and cheaply and set off North up the coast in the direction of Pagham.

Some of the walk involved the harder going of walking on the pebbly beach, while other parts were on a proper concreted path.

We were treated to nice sea views, wild flowers growing at various points along the coast, good fresh sea air and a nice relaxing day. There was plenty of space despite the car park getting busier as the day went on, with the social distancing easy to maintain and most people quite aware of others around.

This turned out to be a lovely walk where, having decided we had gone far enough, we simply turned around to retrace our steps back to the car park. We didn't walk far enough to reach Pagham and the harbour and nature reserve while, if we had walked in the opposite direction (East along the South Coast) we would have been able to visit Bracklesham Bay followed by East and then West Wittering.
