The Seven Sisters

The area around and looking along The Seven Sisters, in East Sussex, is an area that constitutes my Happy Place.

My particular favourite view is looking East from beach level at Hope Gap, a view I have been to and photographed many times before but one which I never tire of as each time it is different.

On this particular day, we couldn't initially park at The South Barn car park to walk to Hope Gap so we opted to drive on a little further and go to Birling Gap. The car parks here were also very full but a space existed in the overflow car park.

As it was a fairly low tide, I was able to walk out towards the sea to get the view looking West along the Seven Sisters - a view I have long wanted to take but not previously succeeded in doing.

The incoming tide was soon chasing me further towards the beach as I strove to get the angles I wanted to achieve.

After a while we returned to the car and decided to try our luck at South Barn, where we were lucky enough to claim a parking spot this time.

We took the pleasant walk down to Hope Gap and I took quite a few photos from the rocks that are exposed at low tide and looked East along the cliffs.

Using my variable ND filter, I managed to obtain a slow enough shutter speed to create a 'swooshy' effect in the water as the small waves broke around the rocks in front of me.
